The application deadline for scholarships at the 2012 National Conference is May 1, 2012.

Need help with the cost of attending? Each January, National Conference Scholarships become available, thanks to the AAFP Foundation's Resident and Student Initiatives Fund. These $500 scholarships are awarded to students and residents who are members of the AAFP and who quality in one of five award categories:

• Community Outreach;
• Family Medicine Interest Group Leadership;
• First-time Student Attendee;
• Minority Scholarship Program, and;
• Tomorrow's Leader.

The application deadline for poster presentations at the 2012 National Conference is April 11, 2012.

National Conference also gives residents and students the opportunity to get some national exposure for innovative projects and ideas through the annual Poster Presentations.

All chosen entries are displayed in the Exhibition Hall throughout the conference and winners in each category will be recognized.

Poster categories are:

• clinical inquiry;
• community project;
• educational program, and;
• research.
