Since medical students are the driving force behind each FMIG, the sharing of ideas between FMIGs is extremely important.
At various times during the academic year, the AAFP will host regional conference calls for leaders from FMIGs across the nation. Our goal is to have every FMIG represented on one of the five calls. FMIG Network Regional Coordinators will facilitate the virtual meetings and will share with FMIG leaders important upcoming events and opportunities around family medicine. Most of each call will be reserved for conversation, sharing of ideas, questions, and collaboration.
Come join a call and get the most important updates and information for your FMIG, network with other FMIGs in your region and share your passion for ensuring the future of family medicine! If you've missed a call or are curious about what's going on, you can also email your Regional Coordinator for minutes from the last call.
To join your region's call, dial (888) 271-3491 at the appropriate time listed above. When prompted, press 1 followed by #. The system will tell you how many others are on the call, and you should be able to hear them once you've joined.
The FMIG Network Regional Coordinator facilitating the call will want to take roll, so please be prepared to share your name and the FMIG you represent.
If you have any questions ahead of time, or any discussion topics or announcements you'd like to add to the call agenda, please contact your Regional Coordinator. Otherwise, just show up on the call ready to get up-to-date and make sure your FMIG is ready to make the most of the year!
We urge at least one representative from each FMIG to join the call, as the Regional Coordinators will be sharing important information for all FMIGs. It may even be a good time for a meeting of the leadership of your FMIG, as the group could listen to the call together on one line and then brainstorm activities and events.
